What Are Hydrogenated Petroleum Resins?

Hydrogenated Petroleum Resin: Hydrogenated petroleum resin is a product in which the unsaturated hydrocarbons in the petroleum resin are converted into saturated hydrocarbons by hydrogenation reaction, which improves the colour, odour and weather resistance of the petroleum resin. Mainly divided into C5 hydrogenated resin and C9 hydrogenated resin.Hydrogenated Petroleum Resins, white or light yellow, relative density 1.01, lighter colour, improved ageing resistance.
The difference between C5 and C9
First of all, it is the darkness of the colour, the bigger the number after C, the darker the colour.
Carbon Penta and Carbon Nine have different uses, Carbon Penta is mainly used for adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesives, road marking coatings and other uses.
Carbon 9 resin is mainly used for paints and anticorrosive coatings.
Carbon Penta has high bonding power, Carbon Nine has low bonding power.
Carbon Penta has low odour and Carbon Nine has high odour.
C9 petroleum resins are resinous substances made by polymerisation or copolymerisation of olefins or cycloolefins with aldehydes, aromatics, terpene compounds, etc., which contain nine carbon atoms.
C5 petroleum resin has begun to gradually replace natural resin tackifiers with its high peel bond strength, good fast tack, stable bonding performance, moderate melt viscosity, good heat resistance, good compatibility with polymer substrates, and low price.
